Noida: STTGDC, the Singapore-headquartered data centre operator, has opened STTGDC NOI2 on its Noida campus, adding 22 MW of IT capacity. It is part of about 200 MW the company plans across Delhi NCR.

The facility is built for cloud, AI and other demanding workloads, with resilient power infrastructure, carrier-neutral connectivity, advanced monitoring and full security. It has been chosen to host the expansion of Neysa’s AI compute infrastructure, which needs high power and cooling.

The company’s India chief executive said the facility reflects its commitment to investing ahead of customer demand, and is part of a long-term strategy to support India’s next phase of cloud and AI growth.

Counting sites that are operating and under development, STTGDC India has 34 data centres in 10 cities, with more than 613 MW of IT capacity. The company has planned investments and agreements with the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, and is looking to expand in Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

It linked the opening to Uttar Pradesh’s growing importance in digital infrastructure, backed by the state government’s efforts to attract technology investment. STTGDC aims for carbon-neutral data centre operations by 2030.

Our analysis

The first tenant is an AI compute provider, so this is capacity for running AI, not storing data, and it is now close to North India’s businesses. Building ahead of demand, with 200 MW planned, is a global operator’s bet that Delhi NCR becomes one of India’s AI hubs.
