OneQode, a global provider of digital infrastructure, has signed for 14 MW of data centre capacity at AdaniConneX’s Siruseri SIPCOT campus in Chennai. It is the company’s first major AI infrastructure deployment in India.

The larger number is still being negotiated. The two companies are discussing an expansion to as much as 114 MW, which OneQode says could bring in more than US$6 billion in contracts for renting out its AI computing capacity.

“India is becoming one of the most important markets for AI infrastructure globally. Working with AdaniConneX gives us a strong foundation to build at scale in Chennai. We have secured our initial 14 MW deployment and are continuing discussions with AdaniConneX on additional capacity opportunities of up to 114 MW in India as demand grows. The combination of infrastructure, competitive operating costs and room to scale makes India a compelling market for our customers.”

Johnny Blackfield, Chief Growth Officer and President, EMEA & India, OneQode

The Chennai site will be used to train and run large AI models, for business AI, and for AI that has to stay within national borders. It will run on AMD Instinct GPUs under a collaboration announced in May 2026, and OneQode plans to add AMD’s Helios rack systems as it expands.

The company’s case for India goes beyond Indian demand. It sees India’s position between Europe, the Middle East and Africa on one side and Asia-Pacific on the other as a way to serve both regions, as AI applications need ever faster response times. Chennai will plug into OneQode’s own global carrier network, which reaches more than 30 data centres on five continents. India is part of its wider Asia-Pacific expansion, alongside Thailand.

AdaniConneX is one of India’s fastest-growing data centre providers.

Our analysis

Separate the signed from the hoped for. The 14 MW is secured. The 114 MW and the US$6 billion are a target, and the gap between the two numbers shows how much OneQode is betting on Indian demand arriving.

The more important point is what Chennai is for. OneQode wants to serve Europe and Asia from India over its own network, with operating costs and room to grow as the draw. If the expansion goes through, India becomes a base for its global business, not just a market it sells into.
