Production at Krishnagiri starts with commercial-series cameras; advanced surveillance models and capacity expansion are planned.
Delta Electronics India has started producing VIVOTEK smart surveillance cameras at its Krishnagiri plant in Tamil Nadu, according to its October 21 announcement.
Initial manufacturing covers commercial-series cameras, which the company said would comply with India’s mandatory BIS ER-01 standards.
Niranjan Nayak, Managing Director of Delta Electronics India, said: “Local production reflects our deep commitment to India’s industrial ecosystem.”
Hong Wu, General Manager of Delta’s Building Automation Business Group, linked local manufacturing to shorter delivery times and technical support for infrastructure, transportation and commercial customers.
VIVOTEK plans to introduce mid-to-high-end AI surveillance models for smart cities and intelligent transportation and expand partner training. Delta plans to increase Krishnagiri’s manufacturing capacity.
Taiwan-founded VIVOTEK became a Delta subsidiary in 2017. Delta India has 14 regional offices, three manufacturing locations, two research centres and more than 200 channel partners.

Our analysis
The commercial rationale extends to procurement and maintenance. Delta says domestic production shortens spare-parts turnaround and helps system integrators meet local procurement criteria for public tenders. Advanced models and additional capacity remain announced plans.
