Bengaluru: Blackstone on Tuesday opened a new office in Bengaluru, its second in India. The firm said the expansion underscores its long-term commitment to India, one of its priority markets.
The new office is a Global Capability Centre. It will bring together Blackstone employees and professional services partnerships across corporate functions, strengthening the firm’s operational capabilities in India and globally.
Susan Yung, a Senior Managing Director in the Investment Operations team of Blackstone Credit & Insurance, will oversee the centre. A finance industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience, Yung previously lived in Bengaluru while working at Goldman Sachs.
“We are proud to deepen our presence in India with a new office in Bengaluru, reflecting our conviction in one of our most important markets globally.”
Michael Chae, Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer, Blackstone
“This expansion reaffirms our long-term commitment to India, where we have become one of the most prominent global investors over the past two decades.”
Michael Chae, Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer, Blackstone
The centre is located at Prestige Lakeshore Drive, a newly developed office park jointly owned by Blackstone Real Estate and Prestige Group. The park is home to several leading global finance and technology firms. Blackstone’s investment professionals will remain in Mumbai, the firm’s India headquarters.
Blackstone was among the first global investors to establish a presence in India, 20 years ago, and has since become one of the country’s largest investors. It is India’s largest owner of office, retail and logistics, and has helped launch five of the country’s six listed REITs, including the first.

Our analysis
For 20 years, Blackstone’s India story has been about the money it put into the country. The Bengaluru centre adds a second story: India now supports how the firm itself runs. Its investment teams stay in Mumbai, while Bengaluru takes on corporate functions that strengthen the firm’s operational capabilities in India and globally.
Blackstone is also moving into an office park it co-owns. As India’s largest owner of office space, it has spent two decades providing workplaces for other companies. It is now placing its own centre in a park it co-owns with Prestige Group, alongside leading global finance and technology firms. That is a clear signal of confidence in the asset it owns.
