The proposed purchase covers 100% of a business operating 28 hospitals and units across south and west India.

The Competition Commission of India has approved Maybach Asia Holdings II Pte. Ltd.’s proposed acquisition of the entire equity share capital of Sahrudaya Health Care Private Limited.

The regulator announced its decision on October 22.

Maybach is a special purpose vehicle incorporated solely for the transaction. It is indirectly owned by investment funds, vehicles or accounts advised and managed by subsidiaries of KKR & Co. Inc.

Sahrudaya operates, directly and through subsidiaries, a network of 28 hospitals and units with approximately 4,800 beds across south and west India.

The business provides care across more than 80 clinical specialties. These include cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, nephrology, oncology, orthopedics, critical care, women’s health and other medical and surgical specialties.

Our analysis

The approved structure involves full equity ownership of an existing hospital business. The network’s beds, locations and specialties establish the operating scale covered by the transaction. The release confirms competition clearance; it does not report completion, a purchase price or an expansion programme.
