Swedish network security company Axis Communications has secured its first Bureau of Indian Standards ER-01 certification in India. The certification, announced from Bangalore on 3 July, covers an M-Series network camera and marks a milestone in the company’s commitment to the Indian market.

“Cybersecurity is fundamental to everything we build at Axis,” said Ettiene van der Watt, Vice President APAC, Axis Communications. “Achieving our first BIS ER-01 certification in India is another important milestone that strengthens our comprehensive portfolio of global cybersecurity certifications. Beyond meeting regulatory requirements, it reflects our long-term commitment to supporting customers in India with solutions that combine local compliance with the high standards of security, quality, and reliability that Axis is known for worldwide.”

Axis says more certifications are coming.

“India is one of our important growth markets, and securing BIS ER-01 certification enables us to continue supporting customers and partners with products that meet the country’s evolving regulatory requirements,” said Sheetal Rao, Regional Director South Asia Pacific, Axis Communications. “This milestone also creates a strong foundation for expanding our certified portfolio in India, ensuring our ecosystem has continued access to innovative, secure, and compliant solutions that help protect what matters most.”

Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Lund, Sweden, Axis employs around 5,000 people in over 50 countries, selling video surveillance, access control, intercom, and audio solutions supported by intelligent analytics applications.
