QAD Redzone Opens GCC in Pune

QAD Redzone inaugurated a regional innovation and engineering hub in Wakad, Pune, on 11 May 2026, with around 400 employees. It is the company’s first India site outside its long running Mumbai centre and will build most of its AI capabilities for manufacturing ERP, cloud platforms and industrial data.

QAD | Redzone is a manufacturing software company offering cloud ERP, the Redzone connected workforce platform and AI tools for manufacturers. QAD was long based in Santa Barbara, California, but sold that headquarters in 2022, and the company now issues its announcements from Miami, where Redzone was based and where its corporate address is listed. Thoma Bravo took QAD private in November 2021 in a deal worth about $2 billion, QAD bought Redzone in 2023 in a deal reported at about $1 billion, and the company has operated in India for about 20 years, mainly from Mumbai.

What the centre does

The Pune hub, at Phoenix Millennium Towers in Wakad, was inaugurated on 11 May 2026 to mark National Technology Day. It opened with around 400 employees and is expected to grow in the coming years.

It focuses on AI, cloud platforms, product engineering, industrial data systems, customer experience and global operations, supporting the company’s Redzone, Adaptive Applications and ChampionAI platforms. A senior executive said 70 to 80% of the AI capabilities the company is building globally will be developed there, including agentic AI for purchase price variation, inventory optimisation, scheduling, planning and lead time reduction. The company targets automotive, industrial manufacturing, food and beverage, consumer products and life sciences manufacturers.

Why Pune

The company has not explained its choice of Pune in detail. Its chief executive pointed to India’s engineering talent, and the company said growth in India was a reason to expand beyond Mumbai. The location also sits close to part of its customer base: a company executive has said tier 1 and tier 2 automotive suppliers make up about 35 to 40% of its customers, and the company has described Pune as a growing technology and engineering hub.

What it signals

Starting with about 400 people makes this a major site from day one, and assigning most of the company’s global AI development to it puts India at the centre of QAD | Redzone’s product plans. That matters because the company is pitching AI first product development, with agentic tools sold on top of its ERP and Redzone products. Adding Pune to its long running Mumbai presence also gives it a second Indian site in Maharashtra, close to the manufacturers its software is built for.
