Nasuni expanded and formally inaugurated its Hyderabad R&D centre in February 2026, set up with Summit Consulting and ANSR. The file data platform company had 40 people there and aims for 125 by the end of 2026, working on data indexing, AI integration and resilient infrastructure with teams in the US and Ireland.
Nasuni is a file data platform company based in Boston that helps enterprises store, protect and manage file data across many locations. In July 2024 a group led by Vista Equity Partners, with KKR and TCV, took a majority stake at a valuation of about $1.2 billion. The company says it has more than 800 enterprise customers in over 70 countries.
What the centre does
Nasuni first opened its India Innovation Center in Hyderabad in September 2025 with Summit Consulting and ANSR, making it the company’s third engineering hub after Massachusetts and Cork in Ireland. In February 2026 it announced an expansion, and the centre was formally inaugurated by a senior Telangana government official in the presence of the company’s chief executive.
The site had 40 employees at that point and is expected to reach 125 by the end of 2026. Its teams work on semantic indexing and contextual modelling of file data, version lineage and metadata, predictive analytics, AI driven operations, zero trust access controls and ransomware detection. They work closely with teams in the US and Ireland in a follow the sun model for development and round the clock support.
Why Hyderabad
Nasuni said it chose Hyderabad for its engineering talent and mature software industry. Its India leadership has described the city as having one of the strongest and deepest technology talent ecosystems in the world, and the expansion announcement also pointed to Telangana’s growth as a technology and innovation hub.
What it signals
Aiming to roughly triple a team within a year is a clear statement, and the work assigned is core platform development rather than support. Nasuni argues that enterprise AI is held back less by models than by how ready a company’s file data is, and the Hyderabad teams are building the indexing and metadata layers behind that pitch. With hubs in the US, Ireland and India, the company can develop around the clock, and a target of 125 people suggests India will hold a substantial share of its engineering capacity.
