Candescent opened a 30,000 sq ft technology centre in Hyderabad in April 2026, with seating for 260. It adds to an India team of more than 800 engineers across Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad working on the company’s cloud native digital banking platform.
Candescent is a digital banking platform in the United States that serves more than 1,300 banks and credit unions and nearly 30 million users. It was formerly the digital banking business of NCR Voyix, which Veritas Capital acquired for $2.45 billion in 2024 and renamed Candescent. Its India teams already number more than 800 engineers across Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
What the centre does
The new 30,000 sq ft centre, announced on 16 April 2026, sits in Raheja Mindspace IT Park in Madhapur and seats 260. It expands the company’s existing Hyderabad presence, which Candescent says reflects an India operation that is central to its global work rather than an extension of it. The current office stays open through 2027, with teams working across both sites.
India based teams design, build and run critical parts of the cloud native platform, spanning onboarding, transactions, real time payments and branch systems, and they increasingly use AI across development and operations. The Hyderabad centre is meant to support significant growth in engineering, product, data and platform roles. Candescent is also exploring partnerships with engineering institutions, including the IIT ecosystem, and building a graduate programme.
Why Hyderabad
Candescent has not given specific reasons for choosing Hyderabad over its other Indian cities. It already had an office there, and it describes the new centre as the next phase of an India operation built around owning product work rather than supporting it. Engineers in the city take part in platform roadmap decisions and long term product strategy.
What it signals
With more than 800 engineers in India, and the company saying roughly three quarters of its workforce is focused on engineering, India is clearly a major part of how Candescent builds its platform. A bigger Hyderabad site, plus a graduate programme and campus ties, suggests the company expects that role to keep growing. For a business carved out of NCR Voyix and now privately owned, a deeper engineering base in India gives it more capacity to pursue its own product roadmap.
