Blackstone Opens Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru

Blackstone opened a Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru on 27 October 2026. It is the firm’s second office in India, alongside its India headquarters in Mumbai, and the firm describes India as one of its priority markets.

Blackstone was among the first global investors to set up in India, about 20 years ago, and has since become one of the country’s largest investors. It is India’s largest owner of office, retail and logistics assets and has helped launch five of the country’s six listed REITs, including the first.

What the centre will do

The Bengaluru centre brings together Blackstone employees and professional services partners across corporate functions. Its job is to strengthen how the firm runs its operations, both in India and globally. Investment professionals are not moving: they stay in Mumbai.

A senior managing director from the Investment Operations team of Blackstone Credit & Insurance oversees the centre. The executive brings more than 25 years in finance and has worked in Bengaluru before.

Why Bengaluru

The centre sits at Prestige Lakeshore Drive, a new office park jointly owned by Blackstone Real Estate and Prestige Group. The park already houses several global finance and technology firms. Bengaluru gives the firm a deep pool of finance, operations and technology talent in a market where it already owns much of the office stock.

What it signals

For two decades, Blackstone’s India story was about the capital it put into the country. This centre adds a second one: India now supports how the firm itself operates. The country’s largest office owner is placing its own team in a park it co-owns, which says a lot about its confidence in both the asset and the city.
