ARKO Corp Opens GCC in Bengaluru

ARKO Corp inaugurated ARKOGPM GCC India in Bengaluru on 1 July 2026 as a standalone entity, where the US convenience retail and fuel distributor will run data and analytics, finance, business operations and enterprise modernisation work, with headcount and floor space not disclosed.

ARKO Corp is a Fortune 500 convenience retailer and fuel distributor headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, and listed on Nasdaq. It operates stores in more than 30 US states and the District of Columbia under more than 25 regional brands, and its wholesale arm supplies fuel to independent dealers. The company runs its operations through GPM Investments and says it serves millions of customers every day.

What the centre does

ARKOGPM GCC India Private Limited was inaugurated in Bengaluru on 1 July 2026 as an independent entity, set up as a company of its own rather than through an outsourcing partner.

The centre houses dedicated teams for data and analytics, finance and business operations. ARKO describes this work as core to its multi year transformation agenda, covering enterprise modernisation, analytics at scale and the modernising of business processes. The company wants the centre to act as an operating partner to its leadership while it builds out analytics systems and grows its local talent base. Headcount and floor space have not been disclosed.

Why Bengaluru

ARKO cited access to engineering and technology talent in Bengaluru, the city’s growing engineering talent pool, and local expertise in digital innovation and enterprise transformation. Company leadership said India’s talent ecosystem offers deep engineering and technology expertise. Beyond talent, the company has not given reasons specific to Bengaluru.

What it signals

ARKO ties the centre directly to its long term business transformation strategy, which gives the Bengaluru team a defined role rather than a loose support brief. Setting up its own entity gives ARKO direct control over finance and data work instead of handing it to a vendor. The scope announced so far centres on analytics, finance and process work, so any later move into wider technology functions would mark a step up. How quickly the centre builds its team will show how much of that transformation ends up running from India.
