Mumbai: AI cloud company CoreWeave is entering India through a deal with AdaniConneX and plans to take 240 megawatts of data centre capacity at AdaniConneX’s Taloja campus in Navi Mumbai.
The capacity will be spread across three buildings of 80 MW each, all leased to CoreWeave alone. It has the option to add another 240 MW at the site. The first phase should be ready in mid-2028, with the rest following in stages.
CoreWeave plans to install NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin systems. The buildings are designed for dense AI equipment and use direct liquid cooling and a chilled water system that does not rely on evaporation.
“India has the talent, developers, and ambition to become a major center of AI innovation.”
Sachin Jain, Chief Operating Officer, CoreWeave
CoreWeave will also open an office in India and hire locally. AdaniConneX is a 50:50 joint venture between Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX.
The Narrative Republic: Partners in India’s Growth
Our analysis
CoreWeave is committing to India well before the capacity comes online, which shows real confidence in how fast Indian demand for AI computing will grow. Indian companies and developers will be able to use advanced AI computing inside the country. And a single tenant taking this much space makes the Taloja campus easier for AdaniConneX to sell to others.
