Pune: SKF India will invest ₹140.4 crore to expand capacity at its plants in Haridwar and Pune. The board approved the plan on 3 November, the same day it reviewed results for the quarter ended 30 September 2026. The company will pay for it from internal accruals.
Pune gets ₹77.8 crore. The plant has six production lines for tapered roller bearings, running at about 85% of capacity. SKF will add machines to one existing line and build one new line. Production from the two phases begins in March 2027 and July 2027.
Haridwar gets ₹62.6 crore for two new lines making deep groove ball bearings, alongside the four already there. That plant is at about 90% of capacity. The new lines start production in December 2026 and March 2027.
SKF said the expansion will help it meet customer demand and reduce trading volumes, meaning fewer bearings bought in and resold.

Our analysis
SKF India will now make bearings it used to buy in. That moves manufacturing to India and brings new work to local suppliers. Expanding while its plants are already at 85% to 90%, and paying from its own cash, shows real confidence in Indian demand.
