Imagine Learning opened a product, technology and AI centre in Bengaluru in September 2026. The company plans to hire across software engineering, data science, cloud, quality engineering and cybersecurity to build learning platforms used in schools. It has not disclosed a headcount target.
Imagine Learning is a US education company headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, with teams in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland and India. It serves schools from kindergarten through grade 12 with core curriculum, digital courseware, supplemental and intervention programmes, assessment and school services. The company says its products reach millions of students and educators. Jonathan Grayer is founder and chief executive.
What the centre will do
The Bengaluru teams will take on real ownership of product, engineering, AI and data work rather than acting as a support arm. Planned hiring spans software engineering, product, AI and data science, cloud and platform engineering, quality engineering, cybersecurity and other technology roles. The centre’s job is to help develop and improve the platforms teachers and students use, and to build a closely integrated product and technology team as AI changes how educators are supported in the classroom.
Why Bengaluru
Imagine Learning has pointed to Bengaluru’s standing as a leading technology and AI hub. The city gives an education software company access to engineers, data scientists and product managers in the numbers it needs to staff a full product organisation. The office sits at Helios Business Park in Kadubeesanahalli, on the city’s eastern technology corridor near the Outer Ring Road.
Imagine Learning’s India footprint
The Bengaluru centre is the company’s India base and is led by the vice president and managing director of Imagine Learning India. Its teams of engineers, data scientists and product specialists work alongside colleagues in Tempe, Dublin and Glasgow. Beyond the technology roles, the India team also covers areas such as product management and curriculum related work.
What it signals
Education technology is a smaller slice of India’s capability centre market than banking or software, but more US curriculum and learning companies are building product teams in Bengaluru. Imagine Learning’s decision to give the India centre ownership of AI and data work, not just testing or maintenance, reflects a wider shift towards placing core product decisions in Indian hubs.
