Axiado inaugurated its India capability centre in Whitefield, Bengaluru, on 15 April 2026, set up with SA Technologies. The San Jose chip security company’s team works on hardware led cybersecurity across silicon, systems and AI driven security. Headcount was not disclosed.
Axiado is a hardware cybersecurity company based in San Jose, California, that builds security into computing at the chip level. Its main product, the Trusted Control/Compute Unit, combines root of trust, TPM, HSM, firewall and real time threat detection on a single chip, with AI data centres among its target markets. In December 2025 the company raised more than $100 million in an oversubscribed Series C+ round led by Maverick Silicon, and said its headcount in Taiwan and India had doubled.
What the centre does
The Whitefield centre was inaugurated on 15 April 2026. Its teams work on hardware, systems and AI driven security engineering, covering design, development and execution. SA Technologies handled the end to end setup, from infrastructure and workspace development to operational readiness, and its India unit manages the facility.
When it announced its funding round, Axiado said it would deepen R&D in India by growing its engineering team, with the Indian engineering centre taking a larger role in firmware development, platform security engineering and silicon validation. It also planned local partnerships with hyperscalers, telecom operators and AI infrastructure companies. The company has not disclosed how many people work at the new site or what it has invested.
Why Bengaluru
The launch announcement said Bengaluru offers specialised engineering talent and a mature technology ecosystem that suit Axiado’s silicon level, AI driven security work. The company’s engineering leadership added that the new workplace would help it hire talented engineers.
What it signals
The centre follows the funding round closely. In December 2025 Axiado said India would take on more firmware, platform security and silicon validation work, and a dedicated Bengaluru site four months later gives that plan room to hire. With headcount in India and Taiwan already doubled, more of the company’s engineering now sits outside San Jose, and Bengaluru looks set to carry a larger share of build and validation work. How far the centre grows will likely depend on how quickly the TCU platform wins data centre customers.
