India is a long established client market for PwC's audit, tax, consulting and deals services, which it serves from offices across the country.
PwC's India business
In 2018 the Securities and Exchange Board of India barred PwC from auditing listed companies for two years. The Securities Appellate Tribunal overturned the ban in September 2019, finding no evidence of collusion.
The case arose from the 2009 Satyam fraud, after which PwC withdrew its audit opinions on the company.
