Equinix's India business
Equinix completed its US$161 million acquisition of GPX India in September 2021, gaining two data centres in Mumbai. The company runs five data centres in India, four in Mumbai and one in Chennai.
Its first Chennai facility in Siruseri opened with an initial investment of US$69 million and is planned to scale to 4,250 cabinets. Equinix hosts more than 300 companies in India, including network service providers and five internet exchanges.
All of its India sites are covered by renewable energy.
