Daikin's India business
Daikin entered India in 2000 through a joint venture with the Usha Shriram Group and became a wholly owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries in 2004. Production at the Neemrana plant began in 2009, and a second facility there followed in 2017.
Groundbreaking for a third factory, at Sri City in Andhra Pradesh, took place in 2022. In 2024 the parent company infused Rs 1,400 crore into the Indian unit, its largest investment in India to date.
