Akamai has had a presence in Bengaluru since before 2008. In October 2018 it opened a 250,000 sq ft Bengaluru facility, its second largest worldwide.
The facility was planned to house more than 2,000 employees over the following years. It hosts a Network Operations Centre, a Security Operations Command Centre and a Broadcast Operations Command Centre.
