S&P Global opened a new office in Downtown Gurugram in April 2026, adding 190,000 square feet of space for more than 3,500 employees. The company announced the hub on 16 April and described it as a major investment in its long running presence in the city.
The New York based group provides credit ratings, benchmarks, market data and analytics to investors, companies and governments. Its businesses include S&P Global Ratings, Market Intelligence, Energy and S&P Dow Jones Indices. Revenue for 2025 came to about 15.3 billion dollars, up 8 percent, and the company has been preparing to spin off its Mobility division as a separate listed company.
What the centre will do
The office will house teams in technology, data, operations and customer success, working in a hybrid model. They support almost every part of the business, including Ratings, Market Intelligence, the Enterprise Data Organization, Energy, Finance, Marketing and People. The fit out includes a client experience room for workshops and presentations, a podcast studio, a library, a jamming room and a 400 seat cafeteria. Senior leaders from several divisions attended the opening, including Saugata Saha, president of Market Intelligence and chief data officer, and Yann Le Pallec, president of Ratings. Nilam Patel, managing director for India, said the design puts people first.
Why Gurugram
S&P Global has a long standing presence in Gurugram, and the new building lets the company expand there rather than start afresh elsewhere. The National Capital Region also hosts a strong presence of Crisil, the Indian ratings and research firm that S&P Global owns. Saha described India as one of the best performing major economies and said its talent is central to the group’s global strategy.
S&P Global’s India footprint
S&P Global now employs more than 16,000 people in India, up from about 15,000 a year earlier. Its offices span Gurugram, Noida, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Indore and Kolkata, and it opened a new Bengaluru office in Whitefield in February 2025. Crisil adds a separate, sizeable Indian workforce under the same parent.
What it signals
Financial data and ratings firms rely heavily on Indian teams for data collection, analytics and technology, and S&P Global is among the largest of them. This hub is a deepening rather than a new entry, showing that mature capability centres in the capital region are still adding space and senior work, not just headcount.
