Litmos Opens New Engineering Office in Pune

Litmos opened a new engineering office in Pune at the end of August 2026, marking it with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The office is meant to build an engineering community in India and grow the company’s product development talent. Litmos has not disclosed a headcount.

Litmos is a learning platform company that helps organisations train employees, partners and customers. It says it serves more than 11,000 organisations in 150 countries. The business was previously part of SAP, which sold it to the private equity firm Francisco Partners in 2022, and it has since operated as an independent company. Eric Vermillion is chief executive and Brian Sobus is chief technology officer.

What the centre will do

The Pune office is an engineering site focused on product development. It will expand the company’s global technology capabilities and complement the developer programme Litmos already runs worldwide. The company has not set out specific product areas or hiring numbers for the site. It has stressed the value of having people together in person, where mentoring, knowledge sharing and hands on collaboration are easier than in a fully remote setup.

Why Pune

Litmos has described India as home to one of the world’s deepest and most skilled technology talent pools. Pune, in particular, offers a strong technology ecosystem with both experienced professionals and emerging talent. In Pune, the company can recruit both seasoned engineers and graduates to build a team that works side by side on the product.

Litmos’s India footprint

Sarabjeet Singh, director of India operations, leads the company’s work in the country, and the Pune office adds to the engineering talent Litmos already has around the world. The company has not published details of earlier India operations, and it has not said how large the Pune team will grow.

What it signals

The move reflects how mid sized, private equity backed software companies are using India to deepen engineering capacity. Rather than outsourcing development, more of these firms are opening their own offices to build teams that work directly on the product. Litmos joins a growing number of software companies doing so in Pune.
