JLL opened a 120,000 sq ft global capability centre in Hyderabad‘s Financial District in August 2026. Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu inaugurated the site on August 6. Spread across two floors of the Prestige Sky Tech building, the centre is expected to scale to about 1,600 employees within two years.
Chicago based JLL is one of the world’s largest commercial real estate and investment management firms, with roots that go back more than two centuries. It earns about $26.1 billion in annual revenue, operates in more than 80 countries and employed over 112,000 people as of June 30, 2026. Its investment arm, LaSalle Investment Management, manages capital for institutional clients, and the firm is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
What the centre will do
The centre belongs to JLL Business Services, the firm’s global operations platform, which has more than 6,500 people in six countries. The Hyderabad team will handle finance and HR operations, project management, lease administration and process improvement, along with advanced analytics, technology led solutions and advisory work for JLL’s global business.
Matthew Rees, Chief Shared Service Centre Officer at JLL Business Services, oversees the platform, and Dheeraj Popli heads its India global service centre. The office was designed around a theme called Layers of Hyderabad, is LEED certified, and fits a quarter of its workstations with adjustable height desks. JLL signed the lease in December 2025, so the site went from paper to inauguration in under eight months.
Why Hyderabad
JLL called the choice strategic and deliberate, and tied it to its Accelerate 2030 plan. The firm pointed to India’s annual supply of more than 2.5 million STEM graduates and to Hyderabad’s strength in financial services, healthcare and semiconductors. Demand data backs that up. Gross office leasing in the city rose about 10.5% to 6.27 million sq ft in the first half of 2026, and capability centres made up roughly 42% of that activity. The state says nearly 150 new centres have opened in Telangana over the last 20 months, creating over 150,000 jobs.
JLL’s India footprint
Hyderabad is the second India hub for JLL Business Services after Gurugram. More than half of the platform’s shared services staff were already based in India before the new site opened. Separately, JLL runs a large India advisory business serving occupiers, developers and investors in the country’s office market.
What it signals
A real estate adviser that tracks the capability centre boom for clients is now one of its occupiers. JLL’s move from routine support work to analytics, technology and advisory in Hyderabad mirrors a wider pattern, as professional services firms push higher value work into their India centres rather than treating them as cost hubs.
