Acumatica, the American cloud ERP company, opened a global capability centre in Nanakramguda, Hyderabad, in August 2026. The centre started with more than 30 employees, with more due to join in the coming months. It will focus first on engineering to speed up product development, and could take on other functions later.
Acumatica sells cloud based enterprise resource planning software to small and midsize businesses, a product the company describes as born in the cloud. The company is based in Washington state and already runs operations in the United States, Canada, Serbia and Sri Lanka. In 2025 EQT agreed to sell the business to Vista Equity Partners. In July 2026 Acumatica acquired Vertrax, a software vendor serving fuel and energy distributors.
What the centre will do
The Hyderabad team is a centre of engineering excellence for Acumatica’s cloud ERP platform. It is meant to speed up product innovation and support customers around the world. Miten Mehta, the company’s chief engineering officer, has described the India team as a starting core for further growth. Acumatica is actively hiring engineers, and the company worked with a specialist GCC build partner on capability design, talent strategy and scaling.
Why Hyderabad
Nanakramguda lies in Hyderabad’s western technology corridor, where many global software companies and capability centres have set up offices. Hyderabad offers a large pool of enterprise software engineers, many with experience on ERP and business applications, along with competitive costs. That depth makes it a logical choice for a company adding product engineering capacity.
Acumatica’s India footprint
Hyderabad is Acumatica’s first capability centre in India. It adds a fifth country to the company’s operating base, after the United States, Canada, Serbia and Sri Lanka, and gives it access to a far larger talent market than its existing offshore locations.
What it signals
Acumatica’s move shows that midsize enterprise software firms backed by private equity are now building their own engineering centres in India rather than relying only on contractors. Starting small, with a team of about 30 and room to grow, has become a common way to test a location before committing to larger numbers. The pace of hiring over the next year will show how much of Acumatica’s product roadmap shifts to Hyderabad.
